During the second half Tigers 2 managed hold off the relentlessly attacking Tigers 1 much better. The final score was 12-2 to Tigers 1. Well done to all who played.

Norwich Tournament

Match Report:
Very early on Saturday morning, 10 Tigers awoke and made their way up to Norwich to attend the Norwich Knight's End of Summer Tournament. We had Manchester Pirates, Norwich Knights and Norwich City 2 in our morning pool.

Instead of a pre-match warm up (we were on first) we decided to moan about how cold it was and how dark the clouds in the distance looked. This turned our to be a bad decision when, 5 seconds into the game, a Manchester Pirate took a running in shot and scored against one of our more able players. Soon after this the Tigers appeared to wake up and finished the game 3-1 up.

Next up was Norwich Knights 1 who we beat 4-0 and after that Norwich City 2 who lost 8-0.

In the afternoon we drew Cambridge City 2 for our quarter final game. The score at the end of 25 minutes was 5-0 to the Tigers. This put us through to the last 4.

It was at this point the rain the weather man had promised started to fall. Luckily it had let up again in time for out semi-final game against Topgunners. It started well for the Tigers who got the first goal and went 1-0 up. It was clear Tigers would struggle to get another since every member of Topgunners was taller than their opposing Tiger. The final score was 6-1 to Topgunners, Tigers did well to only concede 6 goals. The rain started again just after this match finished and so the 3rd/4th play-off match was abandoned. We headed back to Cambridge pleased with our performance. In the evening a few of us went out to say goodbye to Tom who has his last session with Tigers next Wednesday.

Notices:
Don't forget there are still tickets available for the Ceilidh on the 19th. Tickets are £20 and can be purchased from Lewis.

All those who went to Belgium should remember to bring cheques for petrol and ferry tickets to training next week and hand them in to Tom.

Anyone who hasn't paid Chris for the Norwich tournament should bring £2.50 to training next Wednesday

Website:
Hopefully the page should look a bit more Tigery with the orange stripes down the side and Firefox 2 users should no longer see all the text squished up to the right.

Website Launched

The new-look site is here! It contains all the old tigery-goodness as well as some extra bling.
The world-famous Results service is still here and can be found in the menu under CKA.
You can still order copies of Basics of Korfball. This can be found under the Korfball section in the menu.

Now onto the new stuff!

As you can see (by reading this article) we have a proper news section. The idea behind this is to write up weekly (or maybe more often) news items. They will be about the goings on within the club, match reports etc. This should make sure every member of the club can find out what is happening with all the teams and what they missed out on when they didn't come to a social! If you have anything you would like to be put up get it to me (Henry). I will do my best to put it on the site asap.
The news section of the website is exported as an RSS feed. This means you can subscribe to it in a miriad of different ways. You can click on the orange icon next to the home icon in the tool bar (Internet Explorer) or the coloured button in the address bar (Firefox). You can also add it to your Google homepage or to your Gadget bar on your desktop if you are running Windows Vista. If none of those last few sentences made any sense you can simply visit the Tigers Website to catch up on club goings-ons.

There is now a section of the website devoted to the Juniors (see menu bar). There isn't currently much there but do not fear, there will be more content the very soon.

Finally we have a new section for photographs so everyone can see how much fun we had at matches and tournaments. This is also good for showing korfball in action to people visiting the website.

So there it is, if anyone has any suggestions or has found any issues with the site please let me know. Enjoy!
